Christmas Day

Mom and Dad drove back from MA on Christmas morning while I slept, man I have it good.  Grams, Pop's and Titi were waiting when we got home...to open more presents!  I got a piano and a mirror that I can sing into and a big toy that needs to be screwed together so we didn't even get to see what that was like and PJs and get this, a russian hat from my great uncle Tom.  At least that's what we think it is.   I got presents from neighbors, friends and more great uncles.  Thank you everyone!  When I get too big for my toys, we are donating them and passing the good cheer on.

Christmas Eve

Finally I got to start opening presents on Christmas eve at Abuela's house.  I slept while they had a nice candlelight dinner and woke up just in time at 11pm.  I got a farm tractor and farm animals and a piggy bank that counts and a cookie jar that sings and books and fun books.  Even dad got a toy, a helicopter that flies.  It's cool to watch.  By far though mom was spoiled the most because she got presents for Christmas and her birthday.  Plus she's Abuela's baby too.

More Dirty Looks

Enough pictures already, can I please have some peace and quite to bond with my Godmom?

This does not mean I'm ready for bed.

Dress Up With Daddy

He may be wearing the crown but everyone knows I rule at home : ).

My CT Aunties

On Sunday we went to visit Wei and Bud.  Wei is an excellent cook but I only got to eat her edamame.  I made a funny face as usual but I kept asking for more so that must mean I like it.  She cooked crab stuffed mushrooms and garlic shrimp and vegetable egg rolls and chicken lo mein for everyone else.  What a feast!  Aunty Diane was there too.  She brought the wine but surprise, surprise that was off limits too.  Still, it was so much fun hanging out with all adults and as usual getting lots attention.  And they were so sweet to bring me presents from baby Gap.  Wei also gave us the best present ever...a framed black and white picture of me!  She had a graphic designer give the background an artsy feel and she put it in a chic frame.  It was so thoughtful of her and mom and dad just loved it.

Fifa's boys

This is me and Eddie Albert under Fifa's (my sitter) tree.  He's the light of her eyes and who can blame her, he's an angel.  Really, I bet he's got wings under his shirt.  He's in Pre K now but he visits from time to time and when he does I like to skip my naps so I can watch him play.  I also like to watch Rudy and I wish I could play with him but he steers clear of me. I don't get why he doesn't let me pull his hair, mommy lets me pull hers.

Getting an early start

Uh oh, I got caught checking out the presents a few weeks early.   I'll play it off like I'm hungry.

In My High Chair (a.k.a my happy place)

Hey, I match my chair, what a coinkydink. My mommy doesn't bother with the plastic bib anymore, the painted designs are peeling off and she's afraid they may have lead paint. Oh, I almost forgot, I got TWO teeth!! They are perfectly white since I don't do soda or coffee. Do sweet potatoes stain? I hope not, I really like those.

Hello

This was me a month or so back. See, my hair was much easier to manage then. Good thing my dad can teach me all the tricks of the trade!

Strike A Pose

All that's missing is the faux zebra skin and a fireplace in the background. Check out my hair, it's growing wild, especially in the morning.

My Daddy and I...

have the greatest of times but not so much lately. I miss him, he's sick (probably all that partying he did last week) and doesn't want to get me sick. I smile at him every time and he smiles back and talks to me but he's not kissing me or picking me up. Get better dad so we can play again!

Halloween Festivities

I was a pumpkin twice! Though it was windy on the Sunday before Halloween I was dressed up and taken to the city to meet my Massachusetts grandparents. They got a big kick out of my pumpkin costume. I tried to look as dignified as possible, check out my pic. Then, on Wednesday we went to the parade in Hoboken. Man do parents get creative! Check out the dalmations in their dog house. The parade was cool but my thumb was better!

Week of October 21st

When it rains it pours, in our case a tropical storm of social activities on the aforementioned week. First, Tuesday night my mommy went to volunteer in Washington Heights where she practices English with the U.S. citizen hopefuls. Then, Thursday she went out with her new friend Alison and some of her friends in the city. She didn't get home 'till midnight. The next night we all went to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to visit abuela, Jose and Uncles Joe and Eli. They cooked up some adult food, adult as in requires teeth not adult as in you spread it on each other, not that I know anything about that or ever will says my mommy. Saturday, was my titi's birthday so we had her and grandma and pops over for Italian. And as if all that wasn't enough, mom and dad went out with titi 'till 3 in the morning!!!! I just can't believe you want to be away from me for one second let alone....oh, I can't do the math.

Pumpkin Picking

A couple of weekends ago we met up with the Diasos to go pumpkin picking. I watched Marco pick up his pumpkins and run them over to my ride for easy transport. Him and Trey loaded it up with lots of 'em, but I couldn't even chip in one, it's a lot harder than it looks. Besides, I was distracted by the prickly, dry grass on my delicate legs. It was another hot weekend so my mommy took my jeans off and then was crazy enough to sit me on the harsh ground bare legged! Besides that, it was a lot of fun. I think it's funny that Marco thought I had a haircut. And he also pointed to the sides above my forehead and said "he has no hair there". I promise you Marco, one of these days I'm going to have full head of shiny hair just like you...well, darker, definitely darker.

Hanging with the boys

Andrés: "Hey, Marco!"
Marco: "What's up Baby Andrés?"
Andrés: "Where's Trey?"
Trey: "Lol."

I'm a model, you know what I mean....

Party in my pack and play!

Two weekends ago Mommy took me to Abuela's house in Springfield. I love going there, they have a nice back yard and since one of my favorite pastimes happens to be looking up at the branches and leaves it's perfect! Abuela and her friend Fermi had lots and lots of cute clothes waiting for me. Plus there are all the stylish hats and clothes Grandma's bought me too. I'm going to be one dapper kid. My silly mommy was overwhelmed with organizing it all, as if that's a big deal. Anyway, that weekend it was so hot I didn't even need clothes, which was great because I was hanging out with this little hottie, Yasani. She really doesn't like the heat so she was stripped down to her pamper and so was I. We played a little cat and mouse, it was great!

Yummy fruit

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

Gone forever is the little baby who was content with being held. Unless he's drowsy Andres wants constant action, he flails, kicks and bounces. He gurgles and blows bubbles. It's so much fun to sit him on our laps and let him clutch our noses and everything else within reach. He loves to be kissed and we love kissing him. Not so fun are diaper changes, he's eating solids so the stuff's even more offensive now.

Last night we went out for drinks to celebrate Christian and Julianne's engagement. They're planning to marry next year and it's sure to be a lovely wedding (in NJ Dave wants to add). We didn't stay for dinner, which is a good thing since after 3 or 4 glasses of wine Dave was pretty wasted. Sure, the stake would've soaked some of it up but it'd only have been washed down with more wine. So, the later part of the night was no fun at all for him. He was sweating the wine and was totally uncomfortable on our tiny sofa, which he's slept on the last two nights. Since Andres's room is being worked on he's sleeping with me on our bed and Dave is too nervous to roll over him. Despite sleeping on this big bed right next to mommy he woke up at 4 am. I changed him and made him a bottle. After his bottle we both laid back down, his spot was clean and smooth but mine was lumpy. I turned to check and there it was, the wet diaper I had just changed. Jokes on us, right?

Outside His Comfort Zone

It was so hot today that we thought Andrés might enjoy the sprinklers. One look at the first two pics tells you we were wrong. He likes looking at the water and listening to it but the only way he likes it against his skin is nice and warm, just like moi.

Daddy's Got A Brand New Camera

So my gadget-fiend husband had been reaserching cameras for about six months and finally pulled the trigger last week. He bought an Olympus with all the bells and whistles but just to be sure he rented a Nikon for the weekend. Man 'o man is he patient. He's spent the weekend learning how to use both so that he can compare them and eventually be sure that he made the right choice.

I in turn had to excersise my patience. This is how the morning went: aim, focus, snap, down goes one camera, up goes the other and aim, focus, snap. It's then off to the computer to finish this time consuming process. And in the end the choice is clear. By the way, the choice is the same one I made a week ago. But it was all worth it, because we really did get some amazing shots today.
