Chatterbox

I don't know yet how to say "Welcome to your wonderful family, Delaney Cruz Arnold" but if you give me another week I will! I'm learning new words everyday. I know some in Spanish, I know some in English and I even know one German word, "Ja!" I nod my head and say "Ja, ja". My folks started counting all the words, names and phrases I know and the count is in the 50's. I don't mean to toot my own horn I don't think "smart cookie" cuts it. Ok, so I do mean to toot my own horn.

Back to Delaney, she's only a month old but she's probably already weighing 12 lbs. Hopefully, Makenna is having fun with her new baby sister. How is it having a little sibling Makenna?

Stubborn Lion

I know lots of animal sounds including "ROAR!" but to spite my mom I refused to "ROAR!" on Halloween.  See, I didn't want to wear my costume for rehearsal on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday.  Finally, on Friday the big day, she tricked me!  She gave me some chocolate and took advantage of my sleepy, nap-skipping self.  So to get her back, I didn't "ROAR!".  She would ask, I would listen, think about it and then shake my head and tell her "no".  It was pretty funny.

Owen's Big Birthday!

I just met Owen last weekend. My daddy and his mommy were really good friends in high school. Maybe someday we'll be good friends too. Already he's a cool kid, and his was my favorite party so far. Thanks for a great time and keep on rockin!

First Cut

My dad and grandpa were outvoted like 100 to two. A lot of people gave their opinions about my hair but in the end it was my mom who finally decided to take me for a cut. I watched other kids have their turn and I have to say it didn't seem so bad. So I sat on mom's lap and let the man do his thing. Of course, I had to prove dad wrong and sit still. In the end the price I paid with some of my curls was WELL worth the blue tootsie pop I got. I don't know how many licks it took but I got down to the stick thank you very much.

Union City

Living in Union City is like living in another country south of the border. Bergenline Avenue is the Canal Street of our LatinAmericantown. Living here is like being on a perpetual staycation to Quito, or Bogata, or even Santo Domingo. So if you want to have a typical Colombian bandeja paisa that combines white rice and red beans with ground beef, plantain, chorizo, chicharron, arepa, avocado and a fried egg visitanos. Or for a small snack try the Argentinian bakery, mmmmm, delish. It's a wonder we stay so thin!!

Coy Andrés

Sweet Andrés

I heart Grandpa

My Grandpa Dave is one of my favorite people. He's so funny and his beard is scruffy and tickles me. When he's around I hardly pay anyone else any mind.

Rewind to my baptism

I was baptized at All Saints Episcopal Parish in Hoboken back in June. My face and hair got soaked in holy water three times and then I was lifted over the Bishop's shoulder and presented to the church. I was pretty cool with it all. I made my parents proud by not hitting the Bishop and telling him "no, no, no".

Coney Island

The aquarium at Coney Island was cool, the carousel ride, not so much. At least we checked it out before they tear the place up and turn it into Condos. Can you believe we didn't have a Nathans's dog?

Muah!

Last month mommy and I went to vist aunty Wei.  She fed us homemade scones for breakfast and homemade pizza for lunch.  I fed her an orange.  Already I'm a generous guy.  I'm also a good kisser but you have to be lucky to get one of my kisses.  I like Aunty Wei a lot so I kissed her within the first hour of our visit.  Maybe I'm the lucky one.

Born Naughty and Nice

I may be a string bean but I am as cuddly as they come. And so is Makenna, my second cuz. She lives all the way in Virginia, we made the car trip down for her 6th birthday. It was fun at uncle Pep's and aunt Tina's. They have a rottweiler puppy. He's hyper, I had to tell him no a few times. I'm good at that. Sometimes I hit my mommy and tell her "No!". It's never too early to talk back.

R.I.P. Rudy

Rudy was Andres's playmate, all week long they played fetch and even cuddled. We are so sad that he was hit by a car, it's really a shame. We miss you Rudy.

Vroom, vroom!

Meet TJ

Talib Jr. is my Godmother's Godbrother's son. We shared nicely together. And speaking of God, we've been going to church and it's fun. I walk in between the pews and make cute faces at the people behind me. Next week I'm being baptized. I'm not sure what it means but I'm cool with it because it means having a family get-together.

The grass is always greener...

when you have a yard.

Hi Auntie Olive! Hope you had fun in Hawaii!!

Party Animal

It may not look like it here but I was a true party animal on May 31st. First we went to Marco's 4th birthday party in L.I. then we went to Putnam Valley for Ralph's 34th Birthday BBQ. Both were fun, fun, fun. So much so that I didn't let my 102 fever stop me. Mama thought I felt warm. Well, I guess I overdid it because from that day on I was sick for two weeks which meant I got some extra love and got to sleep with my folks. Now though, I'm back in the crib, crying it out.

Monday, May 19, 2008

So our party went like this: Marco and Noah were the "strong men" who then turned into sumo wrestlers, Chiara was the belle of the ball, Matthew had a moment to continue figuring out the meaning of life, Stu couldn't eat cake as sweet and well behaved as he was, Asher brought his appetite and Trey left his sippy cup.

Oh, and I took a while to warm up since I skipped my nap. But it was all good, I wasn't overwhelmed by the masses whatsoever and I even had fun after my favorite part, the singing.

I have so many toys now mom is thinking I might need someone to share them with.  Not cool, I might have to call a lawyer to discuss.

This weekend was also a blast because I met baby Olivia!  She was born on St. Patty's day, how cool is that?  And green is in now, perfect timing.  She's beau-ti-ful.  I hope they do find a home in Jersey so we can see more of her.

Happy Birthday To Me!

It's not 9:15 PM yet but close. I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed today, what's new? My parents on the other hand are not, they stayed up till 2 in morning (crack of dawnin) watching TV and working on some fun crafts for my paaaartey. Those two are so creative and way too into this birthday. Which is just awesome cuz I'm going to have a great time with all my friends and family tomorrow!
